Ava Contract Office Affected by Severe Storm

JEFFERSON CITY – Today the Missouri Department of Revenue (Department) announced that the Ava Contract Office is currently closed as a result of a severe storm that passed through this town early this morning. The State Emergency Management Agency announced that 10 to 15 businesses were damaged in this storm.

The entire town is without power and at this time there is no anticipated timeline when the power will be restored. The American Red Cross is on the scene to assist and damage assessment is underway. Thankfully no injuries have been reported as a result of this violent storm. The Department continues to communicate with the Contract Office to determine when service to customers in the Ava and Douglas County area may resume.

Customers who need to apply for or renew their driver license or motor vehicle registration are encouraged to visit any one of the following locations:

• Cabool Contract License Office:  348-D Ozark Avenue, Cabool; Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Forsyth Contract License Office:  210 Shadow Rock Road, Forsyth; Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Last Saturday: 9.00 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Marshfield Contract License Office: 101 East Jefferson, Marshfield, Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Last Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Ozark Contract License Office: 103 B West Church Street, Ozark; Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Second and Last Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Willow Springs Contract License Office:  112 West Main Street, Willow Springs; Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
