Revenue Department Announces Ninth License Office Set for Open and Competitive Bid Process
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Revenue (Department) announced today that the ninth motor vehicle and driver license contract office will be the subject of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage the public in an open, competitive bid process for operation of a license office. The Department announced today that the contract office in Mountain Grove is set for a competitive bid.
“My administration is the first to open contract offices to this competitive process," Gov. Matt Blunt said. "This is one of the many initiatives we have enacted to make state government more open and transparent. Initiatives like our award-winning Missouri Accountability Portal are providing taxpayers with the greatest access to information in our state's history. We have already successfully awarded five contracts as part of this open and competitive process and the competition for the Mountain Grove office and three others are now going through the process."
The Department currently contracts with 183 independent contractors throughout the state to provide motor vehicle titling/registration and license services. The RFP for the Mountain Grove office will be available on the state's On-Line Bidding/Vendor Registration System at https://www.moolb.mo.gov/. The Mountain Grove License Office is located at 807 North Main Street, Suite 5.
Proposals from interested parties are due on October 29, 2008.
Like the RFP for West St. Louis County, Harrisonville, Potosi, Vandalia, Savannah, Richmond, Steelville, and Memphis contract offices, the Mountain Grove RFP details the requirements for confidentiality, personnel training, office facility and equipment needs, sales and service, security, and record keeping.
“It is imperative we maintain a high standard for customer service," said Director of Revenue Omar Davis. "We continually look to our offices for ways to improve customer service and the bid process will help us continue to achieve this goal."
A copy of the RFP may be obtained at https://www.moolb.mo.gov. To review the RFP, select "Guest" on the home page.
