Effective August 28, 2006 - Intermediate License Restrictions

Intermediate License holders are subject to the following new driving restrictions:

  • During the first six months, applicants may not operate the vehicle with more than one passenger under 19 years old who is not a member of the applicant’s immediate family.
  • After the first 6 months, applicants may not operate the vehicle with more than three passengers under 19 years old who are not members of the applicant’s immediate family.

These restrictions may not be applicable to an Intermediate License holder who is operating in agricultural work-related activities.

Immediate family includes parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, stepbrothers, stepsisters, and adopted or foster children residing in the driver’s household.  Parent includes a foster parent, stepparent, or adoptive parent.  Grandparent includes a foster grandparent, step-grandparent, or adoptive grandparent.
