Real Estate Bond
Statutory reference: Section 303.230, RSMo.
In order for the Department of Revenue to accept a real estate bond as proof of financial responsibility, the following conditions must be met:
- A separate Justification of Sureties (Form 1585) must be completed by two or more individual property owners, each owning real estate in this state, together having equities valued to at least $120,000, with no liens or encumbrances against the properties;
- A Proof of Financial Responsibility Bond (Form 1721A) must be completed by the property owners; and
- The forms must be approved by the Circuit Court Judge of the county or city where the real estate is located, bear the court seal, and be recorded by the Recorder of Deeds.
